"description": "# **Death Cafe**\n\n### _ **Conversations about death & dying** _ ** **\n\nMost of us think about death, but very few of us talk about it. \n \nWe talk about almost everything in life, but not the one thing guaranteed to happen to all of us.\n\nSo when thoughts about death come up they stay quiet, feel uncomfortable or get pushed away. This is a space where they don’t have to be.\n\nThis is a relaxed, agenda-free space to have open conversations about our mortality, and what that may mean. No teaching, no pressure, no expectation.\n\nYou’re welcome to speak and share, or simply sit and listen.\n\nWe’ll gather over tea and biscuits and allow the conversation to unfold naturally; I’ll be there to gently support or guide the space. \n \nTo speak about death is, in many ways, to speak about life.\n\n \n\n### **What is a Death Cafe?**\n\nA Death Cafe is an informal gathering where people come together to talk about death and mortality in a supportive, open environment. \n\nThere is no set structure or agenda, it is not a workshop or a teaching space.\n\nJust honest conversation and curious minds, helping to normalise conversations around death. \n \nYou can read more about Death Cafes [HERE](https://deathcafe.com/what/)\n\n \n\n### **Important to know**\n\nI’ll be there to welcome you and ensure the space feels comfortable and respectful for everyone.\n\nThis is **not** :\n\n- grief counselling or therapy\n- a support group\n- end-of-life planning \n \nThis is simply a space for open conversation. \n \n\n### **EVENT DETAILS**\n\n**Date:** Tuesday 27th October \n**Time:** 10:30am – 12:00pm \n**Location:** The Healing Grove, Bishop’s Waltham \n \nTea & Biscuits provided. \n \nFree to attend, all are welcome. RSVP required. \n \nDonations on the day are welcome but not expected. \nAny contributions will be donated to Mountbatten Hospice. \n \n\n### **BOOKING**\n\nThe group will be kept small, so spaces are limited.\n\n \n\n**Hosted by**\n\nCharlie Thomas, \n_Space Holder + Certified End of Life Doula_",
