"description": "As an artist working in the modern world do you feel like you're swimming in the open ocean, no life jacket and shark infested waters?\n\nJoin us for our inaugural Artists Community Social. Artists always have a higher rate of success working together. The era of silos is coming to an end and it begins with connecting in person. This event is an opportunity to meet other working artists in the community and seriously discuss the realities of what it’s like to be an artist in the world today. \n\n\nIt features community mingling, group discussions, breakout sessions and breakout group report outs.\n\nIt’s open to artists of every level from hobbyist to professional. A thriving creative community has space and opportunity for everyone. \n\n\nHosted by Distributed Creatives, a non-profit that builds local-first systems that scale worldwide, using new technology to move power and opportunity to creators and reduce dependence on centralized platforms. Our initial project is the Local Artists Network which is digital infrastructure that weaves together real world creative communities to empower creative economies that support the community it’s part of. The Boulder pilot is under development and we’re hosting community events to bring the greater community of artists to the table as some of the key stakeholders for this project's success. \n\nwww.distributedcreatives.org",
