"description": "**TENDING INNER TIDES: MONTHLY GRIEF CIRCLE**\n\nA circle to gather in grief together. To tend to our inner tides and the waves of our being.\n\nAs if pouring a little water out each time we gather, to create a little space and to be reminded we don't have to walk this path alone. \n\nThere is no right or wrong way to be with grief. Grief, like water, rises and falls, sometimes still, sometimes wild, sometimes far away, sometimes so close. \n\nYou are welcome, come as you are, be with what wants to be felt, witnessed, and remembered. You may choose to be in silence or to share a little, as we explore ways of being with grief together, guided by the seasons, cycles and rhythms of nature. \n\nThis is not a therapy space, or a space to fix or give advice. This is a space to simply be present with our grief together. \n\n**All kinds of grief are welcome** — loss of a loved one, a place, a relationship, a part of yourself, or a life transition. \n\nIf you have recently experienced the death of someone close to you within the last 6 months, please consider whether the time is right for you to join - this timing is unique to you and your experience. It may be that 1:1 grief mentoring or counselling is more suitable. If you are unsure, please book a call and we can talk about this together - [https://calendly.com/alexamayadavis/call](https://calendly.com/alexamayadavis/call) \n\n \n\n✨ **LOCATION**\n\nThe Hive, Avalennek, Ivy Lane, Penzance, TR18 4TP (please park on Alverton road or The Pirate Inn)\n\nFurther details on how to find the space will be in the confirmation email. \n\n**Accessibility:** \n\n- Please note the venue is **accessed via stairs** and does not have step-free access.\n- Seating will be on the floor, please bring anything you need to feel comfortable.\n- If you have accessibility questions, you are welcome to book a call or send a whatsapp (details at bottom of the page)\n\n![](https://r2.dandelion.events/2026/03/05/08/37/57/b7b094be-7e9a-4d16-88e6-1b61b0682759/7a14022c-71e1-42df-9093-505a13c27501.jpeg)\n_The Hive_\n\nMore about the space: [https://goldenthreadatthehive.co.uk/](https://goldenthreadatthehive.co.uk/) \n\n \n\n✨ ** WHAT TO EXPECT**\n\n![](https://r2.dandelion.events/2026/06/17/16/39/07/afd51d82-0d83-4b7b-a9bf-f43458174d8b/53c86f42-f7ee-4e66-b6d8-974192ee38bb.jpeg)\n_            Grief Circle at The Hive (June 2026)_\n\n_A small circle, with up to 10 of us gathering together for 2½ hours._\n\n- Opening circle\n- Welcome, settling and introductions\n- Group agreements\n- Guidance to connect with the body through sound /movement / meditation\n- Option to share what grief you come with today & to be witnessed\n- Exploring ways to be with grief together - through different forms such as sound, writing, art, movement, ritual\n- Time to ground, connect with what brings your strength, hope, gratitude\n- Closing circle\n\n_Each month there will be **two** concession spaces for anyone who needs these to be able to come. _\n\n \n\n✨ ** WHAT TO BRING**\n\nThere are cushions, blankets, mats and bolsters available in the space. She holds a deep connection to nature, the ocean, and horses. After her mother died in her early twenties, grief cracked her open, awakening her to alternative healing and guiding her on a path of discovery and quiet soul remembering.\n\nHer journey has woven together embodied practice and compassionate service. She trained as a yoga teacher with _Yoga Like Water_, a practice that continues to shape her work — meeting life, grief, and the body with softness and fluidity. She later worked in the NHS as a Registered Mental Health Nurse before returning in 2025 to West Penwith to live near the ocean and her horse. \n\nA decade after her mother’s death, she has been drawn to supporting others through their grief, studying a year-long immersion in grief tending and death doula work. \n\nAlexa offers regular grief tending circles, one-to-one grief mentoring and is a volunteer facilitator for Cruse Bereavement Charity. She is fully insured for this work & has monthly supervision. \n\nThese grief circles are the spaces she wished she had after her mother died. \n\n \n\n[https://alexadavis.carrd.co/](https://alexadavis.carrd.co/) \n\nWhatsapp: 07525 714894\n\nEmail: [alexamayadavis@proton.me](mailto:alexamayadavis@proton.me) (I am slow to respond to emails, so please use whatsapp if you have any questions).",
