"description": "**There's a layer just beneath the bark of every tree: alive, active, still growing, still moving water and nutrients through the whole system. **\n\nIt's called the sapwood, and it's where the real work of the tree happens, quietly, out of sight.\n\nThat feels right for what this circle is about.\n\n**Sapwood Circle** is a small, closed monthly gathering, hosted by Dr Rosalind Watts in a large bell tent in her garden in Frome. Over the course of a year, we move through the four seasons together, using the wisdom of trees as our guide. Being part of this group offers you a supported path to deepening your connectedness to who you really are, your connectedness with community, and your connectedness with the living world.\n\n* * *\n\n### **What to expect**\n\nEach Sunday afternoon gathering weaves together:\n\n- A short film exploring the tree theme of the month\n- A guided _tree journey_ meditation with immersive soundscapes\n- A sharing circle\n- Tea and unhurried conversation\n\nThe setting matters: a spacious bell tent with proper chairs, a crackling woodburner, and sweeping views. It's a place that holds you. We meet on Sunday afternoons, **3.30–6pm** (doors open from 3.15 for tea).\n\n* * *\n\n### **The Seasonal Journey**\n\nOver twelve months, we follow the rhythm of the year through twelve tree themes, each one an invitation to go a little deeper.\n\n🌿 **Summer** _(July & August)_ Welcoming all parts of ourselves · Creativity & collaboration\n\n🍂 **Autumn** _(September–November)_ Gratitude · Pruning unhelpful patterns · Regenerative rest\n\n❄️ **Winter** _(December–February)_ Elders & ancestors · Presence · Love & grief\n\n🌱 **Spring** _(March–May)_ Nervous system regulation · Resilience · Community\n\n☀️ **Summer return** _(June)_ Forgiveness\n\nWe close the full cycle in **July 2027** with a celebratory final gathering, a moment to mark everything the year has held.\n\n* * *\n\n### **The Dates** _(all Sundays, 3.30–6pm)_\n\n1. Sun 19 July 2026\n2. Sun 23 August 2026\n3. Sun 20 September 2026\n4. Sun 25 October 2026\n5. Sun 29 November 2026\n6. Sun 27 December 2026\n7. Sun 24 January 2027\n8. Sun 21 February 2027\n9. Sun 20 June 2027\n13. **Sun 4 July 2027 — Celebration & closing** _(included free)_\n\n* * *\n\n### **Pricing**\n\nFor the full year (13 gatherings):\n\n#### Abundant (pay it forward) £400 Standard £350 **Low-Income £300** \n\n* * *\n\n### The Setting\n\nSapwood Circle takes place in a large bell tent in Rosalind's garden on the edge of Frome. A spot that feels quietly tucked away from the world, with open views across rolling hills and fields where horses graze. As the year unfolds, you'll watch the seasons shift from this same vantage point: the long light of summer evenings, the russet haze of autumn, frost on the grass in winter, and the slow green return of spring. Inside, proper chairs, a woodburner, and good tea make it a place you'll want to settle into.\n\nFrome itself is well worth the journey. One of Somerset's most characterful towns, it has quietly become one of the most vibrant and interesting places in the West Country. With independent shops, brilliant restaurants and cafés, a thriving arts scene, and a community that has long attracted creative and curious people. And for those who want to extend their visit, the surrounding countryside rewards it: Longleat Forest is just a short drive away, offering beautiful woodland walks that feel like a natural extension of everything the circle is about.\n\n![](https://r2.dandelion.events/2026/06/03/11/13/45/63295d86-eb3a-44c8-b763-d087cee314dc/unnamed.jpg)\n\n* * *\n\n### **Is this for you?**\n\nThis circle tends to call to people who are:\n\n- Longing for deeper connection and a regular space for reflection\n- Drawn to nature-based approaches to wellbeing\n- Wanting real, in-person community, not just another screen\n- Moving through a life transition or period of change\n- Integrating psychedelic experiences _(you're welcome to bring this if it's relevant, though it isn't the focus)_\n\nNo prior experience needed. Just a willingness to show up, slow down, and listen, to yourself and to others.\n\n_A note on fit:_ This isn't therapy or a clinical support space. It works best when people feel stable enough to engage in a shared group process. If you're in the middle of acute, destabilising distress right now, it may be worth waiting until you feel more grounded before joining.\n\nAnd please come sober. Our medicine here is community, connection, and trees.\n\n* * *\n\n### Helper's Place\n\nThere is one subsidised spot available at half price (£150 for the full year) for someone who'd like to support the running of the gatherings in a light, practical way: helping set up the space, making and pouring tea, and offering a warm welcome to the group as people arrive. It's a lovely role for someone who wants to be part of the circle and contribute to the conditions that make it possible, without it being a heavy commitment. If this appeals to you, just mention it when you get in touch.\n\n* * *\n\n## **About me**\n\n![](https://r2.dandelion.events/2026/04/04/14/04/51/b1aeec7b-c027-4ec8-8324-48d4988e9ea7/848bd81d-ce94-4b05-b411-5d6a066f7d26.jpeg)\n\nI'm **Rosalind Watts,** clinical psychologist, researcher, and someone who has spent the last decade working at the intersection of psychedelic medicine, nature connection, and community wellbeing. I created the **ACER approach (**_ **Accept, Connect, Embody, Restore** _**)** and am building a facilitator training programme to help local circles like this one take root around the world.\n\nSapwood Circle is both a community in its own right and a living prototype for that wider vision. Which means if you join, you'll be here at the very beginning of something.\n\n* * *\n\n### **Ready to take root?**\n\nThe group will be small (up to 12–14 people) and I'll be choosing members thoughtfully. If this calls to you, simply complete the application form with a little about yourself and what draws you to the circle. I'll be in touch personally once I have a sense of who's interested.\n\n \n\n#",
