"description": "### The Artist’s Way\n\nA 12-week online creative recovery programme for a group of up to 12 people, facilitated by an experienced artist and facilitator.\n\nJulia Cameron’s _The Artist’s Way_ is a 12-week creative recovery programme for anyone who feels drawn to exploring or reconnecting with their creativity.\n\nThis course is designed for people who are new to _The Artist’s Way_, those stuck in a creative block and those who consider themselves “not creative” but would like to be. You can find out more about the programme's principles from Julia Cameron [here](https://www.awakin.org/v2/read/view.php?tid=916). There is also a lot of information online. \n\n \n\n### A note on spirituality\n\nIt is worth mentioning that _The Artist’s Way_ includes the concept of “God”. In newer editions, Cameron explains that “God” can be understood as anything that represents a higher power — nature, the universe, spirit, or something else meaningful to you. It does not need to be religious, but the programme is absolutely spiritual in its values and practices. \n\n \n\n### Your facilitator\n\nThe course is facilitated by Sal, a performance artist, writer and facilitator with more than a decade of experience.\n\nAfter completing _The Artist’s Way_ several years ago, Sal experienced a significant transformation in their own life. They stopped drinking alcohol, moved out of London and began making more art. Their most recent work, a theatre show called _Perfect Little Flirt_, sold out at this year’s Brighton Fringe.\n\nAlongside their creative practice, Sal works in alternative provision with young people who have opted out of mainstream education. Through this work, they have developed facilitation strategies rooted in relationship-building, empathy and understanding.\n\nAs a result, this is not a traditional “classroom” environment. Instead, it is a supportive circle of people finding their own way through the process together.\n\n \n\n### The approach\n\nWe will meet online as a group. Sal will facilitate this group by leading activities from the book, providing prompts for reflection and discussion and answering any questions you may have. \n\nThe Artist's Way demands that we are working on our creative recovery daily. There are many exercises in the book which you can do suring your week. Of course, this is not always possible for numerous reasons. My take is that, if we can commit to showing up for 90 minutes a week as art of a group, this can still have a significant imapct on your creative practice. \n\nYou might complete 40% of the course, 85%, or somewhere in between. Sal actively rejects the idea of “100% culture”, recognising that perfectionism can become a barrier to creativity. The aim is not to do the programme perfectly, but to engage with it in whatever way feels meaningful and sustainable for youIf you haven't done the reading, you can still show up and Sal will provide helpful summary sheets of each week. \n\n \n\n### What does my money get me?\n\n12 x 90 minute sessions of guided creative recovery with an experienced practitioner\n\nWeekly summaries if you can't make a session or haven't been able to do the exercises\n\nLook-Forward highlights of the chapter ahead so you know how to plan around your own schedule\n\nOptional access to a Whatsapp group with your facilitator, Sal and other consenting members\n\n \n\n### A final note\n\nSome people have found that this programme creates ripples which positively impact their life for months or years to come. It is worth doing a bit of research and reading or watching some testimonies to see if this is for you before buying a ticket. I personally recommend Doechii's YouTube series about her experience.\n\nI hope to see you online for the first session.\n\n### \n\n### Course Dates\n\n**Week 1 — Monday 9 November 2026, 6:00–7:30pm** \n_Recovering a Sense of Safety_\n\n**Week 2 — Monday 16 November 2026, 6:00–7:30pm** \n_Recovering a Sense of Identity_\n\n**Week 3 — Monday 23 November 2026, 6:00–7:30pm** \n_Recovering a Sense of Power_\n\n**Week 4 — Monday 30 November 2026, 6:00–7:30pm** \n_Recovering a Sense of Integrity_\n\n**Week 5 — Monday 7 December 2026, 6:00–7:30pm** \n_Recovering a Sense of Possibility_\n\n**Week 6 — Monday 14 December 2026, 6:00–7:30pm** \n_Recovering a Sense of Abundance_\n\n### Winter Break\n\n**Monday 21 December 2026** \n**Monday 28 December 2026**\n\n**Week 7 — Monday 4 January 2027, 6:00–7:30pm** \n_Recovering a Sense of Connection_\n\n**Week 8 — Monday 11 January 2027, 6:00–7:30pm** \n_Recovering a Sense of Strength_\n\n**Week 9 — Monday 18 January 2027, 6:00–7:30pm** \n_Recovering a Sense of Compassion_\n\n**Week 10 — Monday 25 January 2027, 6:00–7:30pm** \n_Recovering a Sense of Self-Protection_\n\n**Week 11 — Monday 1 February 2027, 6:00–7:30pm** \n_Recovering a Sense of Autonomy_\n\n**Week 12 — Monday 8 February 2027, 6:00–7:30pm** \n_Recovering a Sense of Faith_",
