"description": "# Schedule\n\n_Please note: this is an over-18s event._\n\n**19:20** - doors open \n**19:30** - somatic yoga class around the fire \n**20:45ish** - tea and chat by the fire \n**21:15ish** - doors close\n\n# **What is Somatic Yoga?** \n\nAlso known as embodied yoga, this relatively new style blends the insights of modern Western neuroscience with the ancient wisdom of Eastern traditions. Its primary focus is on regulating the nervous system, allowing individuals to navigate the challenges of daily life with greater balance and ease. The participants are guided through simple, sometimes playful poses while being encouraged to draw their attention to their bodies and let their sensations lead the way. In this approach, the teacher acts as a facilitator, helping to shape a practice that is unique to each individual. With its gentle nature, this practice is accessible to individuals of all skill and fitness levels. \n \nPlease bring a yoga mat, and maybe an eye mask. A few spare mats are available on request.\n\nDress up in layers; this is not a very physically demanding style of yoga. \n \n\n# About Plot 9\n\nPlot 9, once a derelict council allotment, has been transformed by the artist Andy Millns into an enchanted community garden and gathering space; a hidden oasis in the urban space. \n\nThis magical place features two repurposed parachutes, which act like a cover from the rain and the scorching sun. \n\nThere is drinking water on site, please bring a water bottle. There is also a dry toilet for us to use. The garden is gated and private; only we will be there, so our belongings are safe too. \n\n**Parking** : restrictions are in place just outside the Plot, however, the nearby streets have free parking, e.g. on [Dinsdale road](https://maps.app.goo.gl/fYZB8eVysnh9d9S1A).\n\n**Accessibility** : Please note the plot has steps and uneven surfaces, so it’s unfortunately not fully wheelchair accessible. Light assistance is available for navigating the stairs if needed.\n\n**Closest station** : Maze Hill station is only a few steps away, served by Thameslink and Southeastern trains. \n \nTo learn more about Andy's story and the creation of Plot 9, visit: [https://greenwichsky.com/plot9/](https://greenwichsky.com/plot9/)\n\n# \n\n# Meet your facilitator \n\nFlora is a yoga teacher, an experienced dancer and DJ, and ADHD and trauma coach. She recently transitioned from a career in technology to focus on her and others’ mental health, learning various modalities. She utilises all her skills and experience to create an inclusive, calm space for everyone’s healing and enjoyment.\n\nYou can find out more about her at [https://flow-state-healing.com](https://flow-state-healing.com)\n\n \n\n# What if it rains?\n\nThe parachutes cover us in case of light rain. \n\nIn case there is a prediction of torrential rain, high winds or thunderstorms, we will cancel the event. We’ll notify ticket holders by email at least 2 hrs in advance if weather threatens cancellation.\n\n# \n\n# What to bring?\n\n- **Layers, layers, layers!** Loose, comfy clothes in layers that you don't mind potentially getting a little dirty. Even though the fire and the blankets will keep us warm, this style of yoga is quite low energy, so a good pullover is recommended. \n- I recommend practicing either **barefoot, in toe socks, or loose sleep socks** , so that your toes are free to move \n- **Water bottle** \n**- A** **blindfold** for a more immersive experience \n- A **yoga mat ** (limited amount of spare mats available upon request)\n\n \n\n# Photos & Videos\n\nWe ask the participants not to use their phones during the class. We won't be taking photos or videos either. \n\n \n\n# Prices\n\nTickets are tiered; please choose the price that matches your financial situation. \n\nWe believe everyone should have access to the healing power of yoga. If you can't afford a ticket, please contact us, and we'll find a solution.\n\n# Cancellation policy \n\nUp to 1 week before - full refund \nUp to 24h before - transfer ticket to a future date, transfer to a different person, or 50% refund\n\n# Please follow us \n\n \n\nPlease join our [WhatsApp group](https://chat.whatsapp.com/DPcMblRLKeJDc8ODQSmEiO?mode=gi_t) to be informed of future events.",
