This space invites exploration, connection, and a deepening relationship with movement.\n\n**All returning and new dancers are welcome.** We are a supportive, all-gender adult group — we dance, rest, and play with varying soundscapes and light facilitation. While movement is at the heart of our practice, there are occasional moments of guided reflection or verbal sharing to support integration.\n\nWe are lucky to have the foundation of over a decade of Friday Night Dance in Totnes! And while that brings support of long-standing dancers, this is truly a space where everyone is welcome - new-to-dance, returning-to-dance, or seasoned dancers.\n\n<oembed url=\"https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PMBgTvO-PU4\"></oembed>\n\n#### **Autumn Term Dates**\n\n8 & 22 January, 5 & 19 February , 5 & 19 March\n\n6.30-8.30pm \nHarberton Parish Hall, 5 Tristford Rd, Harberton, Totnes TQ9 7SD \n_with the exception of Feb 5th when Harberton is closed for the pantomine, and so we dance at Dartington Studio 6._\n\n#### Price\n\nFor 6 sessions:\n\n£99 earlybird booked by Nov 30th. \n£115 standard price \n£130 supporter price (helps others attend) \n \n\n**Some things that might not be obvious if you’re thinking of joining for the first time:**\n\nYou don’t have to dance in a particular way, keep moving the whole time, make eye contact, or join in with everything.\n\nIt’s fine if you need time in your own somatics, or deep rest to start.\n\nIt’s fine to wear earplugs. (We have a bag of them..)\n\nIt’s fine to spend time witnessing rather than moving.\n\nIt’s fine if your body says, “Actually, I need to lie down now.” (And a step further, if you realise you need to sleep - fine too.)\n\nIt’s fine to attend on hard days. Dance is here to help the body find its way.\n\nThere are a lot of ways of being here. We’ve been dancing together for over a decade, and part of what holds the space is making room for however people arrive, orientate, take part, or listen to what they need.\n\nCome as you are.\n\n#### **About Leela Fisk**\n\nI bring 17 years experience of facilitating community dance, over 3000 facilitating hours of supporting personal and collective expressions in non-competitive atmospheres with care. I'm informed by my training with the School of Soul Motion, studies with Anna Halprin and colleagues along with various somatic movement practices. \n\nI have been teaching in education settings since 1997. \n\nI also lead a Level 1 Personal Embodiment and Level 2 Facilitator Training for the Devon School of Soul Motion along with other ongoing groups for women locally in Totnes and online as part of Movement for Life community group, Totnes Dance Collective and other initiatives.\n\nIf we've never met, you can meet me and the hall here: [https://www.facebook.com/reel/1781962222826897](https://www.facebook.com/reel/1781962222826897) \nAnd more about movement & community here: [https://vimeo.com/450821255](https://vimeo.com/450821255)\n\nIn the event that I'm unwell, my partner Adam Griffin (certified Soul Motion teacher & Friday Night Dance participant) would cover-lead an evening. In the unlikely event that we are both unwell then one of our graduates (who also attends the group ongoingly) would lead the session. \n\nPlease feel welcome to join, any questions be in touch.\n\n[www.leelafisk.com](http://www.leelafisk.com)\n\n[www.devonschoolsoulmotion.org](http://www.devonschoolsoulmotion.org)\n\n#### Relational Awareness\n\nWe foster good relations in the dance. We generate inclusive community. We feel it's real testimony to have been able to co-exist sensitively where group members also have external relationships such as therapist/client or ex-partners within the group. We do not recommend joining the group afresh if you have unresolved issues with someone who attends — please check with me first if you are unsure. For anyone in a professional capacity wanting to check about possible clients or vice versa, please contact me directly — we check by initials in the first instance. We (Adam and myself) run several other groups that I can point you to if needed.\n\n#### **Cancellation Policy**\n\nIf you’re unable to attend after payment:\n\n- No refunds are available.\n- However, you may transfer your place to someone else — provided they start by the second session.", "endsAt": "2027-03-19T18:30:00Z", "locations": [ { "$type": "community.lexicon.location.geo", "latitude": "50.4152446", "longitude": "-3.7221361", "name": "Harberton Parish Hall, 5 Tristford Rd, Harberton, Totnes TQ9 7SD, UK" } ], "mode": "community.lexicon.calendar.event#inperson", "name": "Friday Night Dance: Winter-Spring Series 2027", "startsAt": "2027-01-08T18:30:00Z", "status": "community.lexicon.calendar.event#scheduled", "uris": [ { "$type": "community.lexicon.calendar.event#uri", "name": "Friday Night Dance: Winter-Spring Series 2027", "uri": "https://dandelion.events/e/fridaynightdancewinterspring2027" } ] }
