"description": "What does it mean to live well? What does it mean to die and, perhaps, to die well? Do our conceptions of death lead us to fear and avoidance or to recognize the preciousness of this experience, for ourselves and others? How can we shed the negative cultural messages around death and find the courage to live into our own expansion? Join the CALM Center at the Natural History Museum for a 4-part series where we will discover how coming into a relationship with d/Death can help us to explore what it means to live fully and in deep connection with ourselves and all other inhabitants of this magical earth.\n\nAttend one or all sessions. Journals provided for your own reflections.\n\nSession 1: Life, Death, Living, Dying. Round table discussion.\n\nSession 2: The Mind, the Body, the Spirit and the Soul. An exploration and drumming meditation.\n\nSession 3: Grief and Gratitude: Weaving the Thread. Journaling exploration.\n\nSession 4: Courage to Live, from the Deathbed. Drumming meditation.\n\nThis series holds that there is great beauty in our different perspectives and our different customs around death and dying and that we, individually and collectively, have the opportunity to expand our understanding and enrich our lives when we come together in curiosity, compassion and deep respect.\n\nLed by Dawn Fleurette Colley, Associate Teaching Professor and Death Doula",
