"description": "The Medicine Buddha Puja is traditionally practised for healing, both of the body and of the mind. Practitioners recite the Medicine Buddha’s mantra and dedicate the merit to the health and wellbeing of others, especially those who are sick. It is also said to purify harmful actions and to protect against untimely death and obstacles. Beyond these traditional aims, the practice trains the mind in compassion, since the healing is offered to all beings and not only to oneself.",
