"description": "## **Ecstatic Dance ~ Autumn Series~**\n\n## **Friday 23rd October 2026** \n\n### _with Estavia and guest DJ Ecstara_\n\n \n\nA special heart-opening dance journey at Barcombe Village Hall with DJ Estavia. \n \nMove freely, connect deeply, and surrender into joy together ✨ No dance experience needed - just come as you are. ✨ \n\nAs the nights grow longer and the summer glow fades, it's time to gather the harvest of your year so far and meet again for an evening of connection with our warm and friendly community of dancers and movers.\n\n![](https://r2.dandelion.events/2026/02/04/21/20/05/e89ddd8b-0497-4c24-a4e2-446f5aebd73d/ED photo.jpg)\n\n \n\n### **What Is Ecstatic Dance? **\n\n \n\nEcstatic Dance is a freeform dance style that encourages people to move in ways that are freeing and natural. It is a movement meditation that helps people feel more connected to themselves and to others. There are no steps to learn - you are free to follow the flow and impulse of your own body. \n\nIt can be playful and joyful, deep and emotional, energising and grounding - sometimes all in the same dance. Many people describe it as both a great night out and a powerful movement practice. It’s a space to let go, have fun, connect with others, and reconnect with yourself. \n\n \n\n### **What to Expect **\n\n \n\nFor this special October event, I have invited DJ Ecstara to open with a welcoming, relaxing warm-up to get us in the mood! This gives time for you to arrive, let go of your day and to allow your nervous system to slow down and soothe so that you can begin to tune in to yourself and your needs and to re-connect with your body. \n\nWe’ll then come together briefly in an opening circle to ground, connect, and set the tone for the night including a connecting meditation courtesy of Sacha Allistone. \n\nFrom there, the music will guide us through a journey of movement - starting slow and spacious, building into vibrant, high-energy dance, and gradually returning to stillness and calm. \n \nExpect music drawn from across traditions; world sounds, ceremonial electronica and deep grooves that touch the heart and move the body. \n \nIf you’d like a taste of previous dance journeys, you can listen to my ecstatic dance mixes at [mixcloud.com/DJ\\_Estavia/ ](https://www.mixcloud.com/DJ_Estavia/)\n\nThere will be opportunities to explore movement solo, in pairs, and in small groups - however these are optional and you are welcome to follow your own needs at all times. We’ll close with a peaceful circle to ground and integrate the experience. \n\n### \n\n### **About Me **\n\n![](https://r2.dandelion.events/2026/01/30/15/11/02/aed9b9e3-a09e-4a4f-81e9-f03365579ea4/Steve at Unity-72 final-2 Edit for warmth.JPG)\n\n \n\nSteve Coomber, known as DJ Estavia, is an experienced Ecstatic Dance facilitator and DJ with over 25 years experience in conscious movement practices.
