We will dice deep in the **intersection between psychedelics and meditation** , and the role of psychedelics to unlock **creativity and flow states**. You’ll journey through **ancient wisdom traditions and modern scientific frameworks** , learning how these tools can support healing, neuroplasticity, and expanded states of awareness. \n\nGrounded in neuroscience and rich with philosophical insight, the course offers a deep, critical look at the potential of psychedelics to contribute to **mental health, human flourishing, and the future of consciousness itself**.\n\nWe’ll explore **how psychedelics impact brain organization, perception, and the sense of self** , and how these changes relate to **neuroplasticity, mental health, and personal transformation**. From the mechanisms behind ego dissolution to the therapeutic potential of compounds like psilocybin, DMT, and 5-MeO-DMT. Along the way, we’ll connect the dots between ancient practices and contemporary research. From shamanic traditions to fMRI scanners.\n\nEach session blends science, philosophy, and critical discussion. You’ll learn about emerging clinical models, non-ordinary states of consciousness, and the ethical and cultural tensions shaping the psychedelic renaissance.\n\n# Highlights\n\n- 10-week deep dive into the neuroscience of psychedelics\n- Live online lectures with Dr. Chris Timmermann, a pioneering psychedelic neuroscientist\n- Cutting-edge insights on psilocybin, DMT, 5-MeO-DMT, and brain function\n- Explore key models like REBUS, neural entropy, and psychedelic neuroplasticity\n- Weekly sessions blending science, philosophy, and critical discussion\n- Engage with ancient wisdom and modern research side by side\n- Understand the relationship between psychedelics, consciousness, and healing\n- Explore future frontiers: creativity, flow states, and psychedelic apprenticeship\n- Two optional in-person socials in London for those participating in the course\n- A unique opportunity to learn with an international online learning community\n- Certificate of completion available\n\n# What You'll Gain \n\n- A solid understanding of how psychedelics reshape the brain and consciousness.\n- Insights into their therapeutic potential for mental health and personal growth.\n- A critical perspective on the risks, ethics, and social dimensions of their use.\n- Inspiration from the intersections of neuroscience, meditation, and creativity.\n\n# **Who is This Course For?**\n\nThis course is for anyone curious about the **science, culture, and potential of psychedelics,** whether you’re a seasoned psychonaut, a wellness practitioner, a researcher, or simply neuro-curious.\n\n# Curriculum:\n\n#### Module 1: **The Many Faces of Psychedelic Neuroscience**\n\nExplore how psychedelics are reshaping our understanding of the brain, therapy, and culture. We’ll dive into the foundations of psychedelic neuroscience and how these substances may enhance the brain’s ability to adapt and change, a process known as neuroplasticity.\n\n**Lecture 1:** Psychedelics at the intersection between neuroscience, therapy, and society\n\n**Lecture 2:** The basics of psychedelic phenomenology, neuroscience, and neuroplasticity\n\n#### Module 2: **Psychedelics, Healing, and Consciousness**\n\nWhat do psychedelics reveal about the nature of consciousness and the experience of self? \nWe’ll explore their therapeutic potential across a wide range of therapeutic conditions, and how they seem to alter the very structure of our conscious experience.\n\n**Lecture 3:** Therapeutic effects of psychedelics\n\n**Lecture 4:** Psychedelics, the self, and consciousness\n\n#### Module 3: **Models and Minds: The Neuroscience and Phenomenology of Psychedelics**\n\nThis week explores how psychedelics reshape consciousness from the brain to the body. We’ll unpack leading models like REBUS, and the Entropic Brain. We'll dive into how lived experience, embodiment, and context play a role through the lens of psychedelic neurophenomenology.\n\n**Lecture 5** : Models of psychedelic neuroscience: REBUS, the Entropic Brian, and the CTSC model .\n\n**Lecture 6:** Embodied, extended, and enactive: Psychedelic neurophenomenology.\n\n#### Module 4: **Into the Depths: DMT, 5-MeO-DMT, and the Edges of Consciousness**\n\nWhat happens to the brain (and the self) in the most intense psychedelic states? Looking forward to Dr Timmermann's upcoming newsletters and book! **- Anonymous, 5/5 stars** _\n\n_These 10 sessions cover and provide a solid integration of neuroscience and phenomenological perspectives. I value the relaxed format, which allows for deep professional engagement at one’s own pace and depth without pressure. It is a well-structured and highly relevant resource. Highly recommended. **Claudia W. - 5/5 stars** _\n\n_This was an excellent course. The content was well-structured and delivered in such a way that someone with limited knowledge and experience could understand and process. There was so much here that I can apply to my own academic research, which is non-scientific but explores the possible personal and social benefits of psychedelic use_ _ **- Martine M. 5/5 stars** _\n\n_The course was excellent! It covered many different aspects of psychedelics and related neuroscience, and was very well taught by Chris. **David W. - 5/5 stars** _\n\n_Brilliant course. Great teaching and scope of topic. **Catja - 5/5 stars** _",
