So are we.\n\nJoin us for an evening of **Psychedelic Speed-Friending & Storytelling** , where curiosity, connection and a little playfulness take centre stage.\n\nWe'll gently guide you through some fun ice-breakers and thought-provoking conversation prompts designed to help you meet new people in more meaningful ways.\n\nThink interesting conversations rather than frantic networking. You'll spend time chatting in pairs and small groups, with plenty of opportunities to mingle, follow your curiosity and get to know people.\n\n### Psychedelic Storytelling\n\nOnce we've had a chance to get to know one another, we'll move into one of our favourite parts of a Psychedelic Society social: storytelling!\n\nAn informal open mic where anyone who feels inspired can share a story or experience.\n\nPerhaps something strange, funny, tender, unexpected or downright mystical. It might be about a psychedelic experience, an unusual encounter, or a moment that changed how you see the world.\n\nThere's no need to be polished or profound. Just bring yourself and whatever you'd like to share.\n\nStories are limited to five minutes, and you can sign up on the night. Listening is just as welcome as sharing.\n\n### Come as you are\n\nYou don't need any experience with psychedelics to join us. Our socials bring together people from all walks of life who share an interest in curiosity, connection and exploring what it means to be human.\n\nComing alone? You're in good company! Many people arrive on their own, and the evening is designed to make meeting others feel a little easier.\n\nWe hope to create a welcoming, inclusive and respectful space where everyone can feel comfortable participating in their own way.\n\n### A note on language\n\nThis event will be facilitated in English, but Portuguese conversation prompts can be provided.\n\nPortuguese speakers are very welcome, and we hope to create a space where connections can happen across languages.\n\n**Come for the curiosity. Stay for the connection.**\n\n**A Beautiful Psychedelic Community: ** Get access to our wonderful community coalescing around all things fungi. Many people at our socials have become life-long friends. Most of our members come alone, this is a safe and welcoming space for everyone, no matter your age, sexuality, background, gender, ethnicity or nationality. Fungi know no boundaries, which is the ethos we bring to our socials. \n\n![](https://r2.dandelion.events/2025/02/26/17/12/10/ff8883a5-bf94-4de9-9b02-20bc10086351/Nature.png)\n\n# **VENUE**\n\n[Bairro Novo 2, 3400-733 São Sebastião da Feira](https://www.google.com/maps/place//data=!4m2!3m1!1s0xd22d50011db7851:0x16f685c00b1f46b3?sa=X&ved=1t:8290&ictx=111)\n\n# **OUR TEAM**\n\n### Freesia Basset\n\n![](https://r2.dandelion.events/2025/11/06/11/52/53/2e10afc8-5a96-45fe-ab79-c018f303a1ec/832d65eb-8554-4404-9031-c81637dab411.jpeg)\n\nWith a background in community arts, youth work and festival production, Freesia likes to bring people together in imaginative and authentic ways, especially those often overlooked or excluded from mainstream spaces.\n\nShe developed The Psychedelic Society’s gatherings in Hastings, celebrating the town’s creative spirit while opening new conversations about consciousness and community. Freesia also lead _SisterWood_, a nature-based programme for girls, and explores consciousness through Reiki and sound practice, weaving together art, nature and embodied awareness.\n\nPsychedelics have been among her greatest teachers, informing her inquiry into connection with nature and self, and how we might honour the lineages that hold these understandings. She is studying for an MSc in Mind, Medicine & Culture: Psychedelics at the University of Exeter, examining how altered states of consciousness shape creativity, connection and collective understanding. She’s passionate about collaboration, open dialogue and shared learning.\n\n# Find Your Community with The Psychedelic Society\n\n![](https://r2.dandelion.events/2025/02/26/17/12/33/0a9bf817-d03e-4255-88e3-a131ae14d00f/Nature (2).png)", "endsAt": "2026-11-26T21:00:00Z", "locations": [ { "$type": "community.lexicon.location.geo", "latitude": "40.31653860000001", "longitude": "-7.864785899999999", "name": "Canta Art Café, Bairro Novo, São Sebastião da Feira, Portugal" } ], "mode": "community.lexicon.calendar.event#inperson", "name": "PsySoc Social CENTRAL PORTUGAL: Speed-Friending & Psychedelic Storytelling", "startsAt": "2026-11-26T18:30:00Z", "status": "community.lexicon.calendar.event#scheduled", "uris": [ { "$type": "community.lexicon.calendar.event#uri", "name": "PsySoc Social CENTRAL PORTUGAL: Speed-Friending & Psychedelic Storytelling", "uri": "https://dandelion.events/e/c96zd" } ] }
