"description": "Local AI. Distributed power. Self-sovereign intelligence.\n\nWho stores our knowledge? Who controls the machines? Who gets access?\n\nJoin Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy at the Internet Archive Europe in Amsterdam for an evening exploring the infrastructure behind artificial intelligence, and the alternatives we can build together.\n\nAs AI becomes essential infrastructure, do we have to rely on giant centralised data centres and a handful of frontier-model companies? Or can local and edge AI, community-owned compute and self-sovereign data put intelligence back into the hands of people and communities?\n\nThe workshop connects with our sister event taking place the same evening at Newspeak House in London: Who Owns the Future?. Together, the two gatherings ask how we can build a more open, distributed and self-sovereign future for AI.\n\nExpect conversation, practical experimentation and new ideas around local and edge AI, distributed computing, data sovereignty, digital independence and community infrastructure.\n\nThis event is co-organised by the Internet Archive Europe. The Internet Archive Europe is a Dutch non-profit research library. Working with libraries, museums, and archives, we share these tools and collections to further everyone’s services.\n\nFurther programme and speaker details to follow.\n\n#AI #LLM #workshop #selfHosting #dataCentres",
