"description": "Join GreenLatinos Illinois on November 4 in Cicero for a community education event exploring the rapid growth of data centers in Illinois and what it means for our communities.\n\nWhat exactly are data centers, and why are so many being proposed across our state? How could they impact our air & water, energy bills, and local communities? And what can residents do to make their voices heard?\n\nWe’ll break down the environmental and community impacts of data centers, share how GreenLatinos Illinois is working to establish stronger safeguards through the POWER Act (SB4016/HB5513), and discuss the recent purchase of Hawthorn Race Track by data center developer Digital Realty.\n\n* Free food will be provided by GreenLatinos 💚* Doors open for the event at 6 PM; the presentation will begin at approximately 6:30 PM *\n\nWhether you are up to date on the data center discussion in Illinois or completely new to it as a topic, we want your input in the conversation! Come share your thoughts and learn how you can get plugged into our work!\n\nSCAN THE QR CODE TO RSVP💚",
