"description": "Beacon is a new app that helps people find what's happening nearby and spontaneously gather with the people and places around them. Join us for a spread of food and drink from You Enjoy Life Farms, try Beacon in good company, and tell us what's working and what isn't.\n\nMost of us don't lack community. We lack an easy way to find it in the moment. Plans get buried in group chats, events are scattered across five platforms, and the spontaneous \"anyone want to grab a coffee?\" rarely makes it past the thought.\n\nBeacon is a new app built to change that. You light a beacon to say \"I'm around and open to company,\" share it with the circles you choose, and see what your neighbors are lighting up too. It's built to get you off the screen and into the same room, in your own local community, with your people.\n\nWhat to expect\n\nA generous spread of local ferments, breads, and meants from You Enjoy Life Farms\n\nA short, friendly walk-through of Beacon\n\nTime to actually use it, with us and with each other\n\nA simple, honest feedback conversation.\n\nA deep dive into technology for localism\n\nWho we're hoping to meet\n\nBeta testers: curious people who'll use Beacon in their real week and tell us the truth about it.\n\nCommunity weavers (our Ambassador cohort): the people who already connect everyone to everything. If you're the one who organizes the potluck, starts the group chat, and knows which friends should meet, we'd love you to help shape this and bring others in.\n\nWhat we ask in exchange for the feast Bring your phone, your honest opinions, and your appetite.",
